Vincent M Kwan Ho LEE, Officer of the Order of the Crown (Belgium), MSc, FCPA , born in 1955 in Hong Kong, was educated as an economist; qualified as an accountant; career as a banker; and now an investor contributing much time towards education, community activities and public services in Hong Kong and China serving key posts in financial and securities regulatory bodies in support of China's further development .
Lee is a qualified Certified Public Accountant of the United States of America, and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in Accounting and International Finance from the University of Southern California and holds a Master's Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science at the University of London, and has received numerous academic awards and recognition.
Lee is the Chairman of the Tung Tai Group of Companies which was established in 1952 by the late Dr The Hon Leo LEE , GBM, GBS, Cav Gr Croce, OBE, Chev Leg d'Hon, Comm Leopold II, LLD, JP . Tung Tai Group is a diversified organization with financial services at it s core and other services including securities & futures investments, asset management, financing, and strategic investments solutions to publicly listed or privately held companies.
In 2000, he was elected as an Independent Non-executive Director of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd and has been continuously re-elected for four times till now. He is also a Member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of Cash Market Consultative Panel.
Being a professional in international investments and finance, he has extensive experience in banking, corporate and real estate transactions in Hong Kong, China, the United States, and Canada. As a senior banker with the Hongkongbank Group in Hong Kong and Vancouver, and as a Certified Public Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand in Los Angeles and Boston, Lee executed a wide variety of investment transactions including corporate acquisitions, financing, divestitures, real estate, share offerings and commodity trade. His extensive financial and accounting background with over 30 years of experience is strengthened by his expertise in corporate management.
Lee has maintained an impressive family tradition of commitment to community and public services . He was a Member of the Central Policy Unit of the HKSAR government and is currently a Non-official Member of the Hong Kong Financial Services Development Council , Standing Committee Member of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference , Vice-Chairman of Standing Committee of the Hong Kong Association For The Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China , an Executive Committee Member of China Overseas Friendship Association and has been an elected Member of the HKSAR Election Committee - Financial Services Subsector for two terms.
Lee has been actively engaged in overseas and national affairs , particularly in the enhancement of regional economics. He is at present the Co-Chairman of the Ukraine-China Business Council , Deputy Secretary of Guangxi Overseas Friendship Association, Vice Chairman of Hunan Overseas Friendship Association, Vice Chairman of Dalian Chinese Overseas Friendship Association, Vice Chairman of Zhongshan Overseas Friendship Association, an Executive Committee Member of Association for Friendship with Overseas of Zhang Jia Jie City, a Member of the 7 th Board of Directors of China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification , the economic consultant for the city of Handan , an Executive Committee Member of Zhongshan Public Diplomacy Association and was Vice Chairman of Henan Overseas Friendship Association.
Regarding community service , he is an Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Guangxi Chinese Overseas Friendship Association Ltd, Honorary President of Hong Kong Federation of Zhong Shan Unions & Association Ltd, a Director of Chungshan Commercial Association Hongkong, an Executive Committee Member & Vice Chairman of Business Committee of Business and Professionals Federation of Hong Kong and a Director of Hong Kong & Kowloon Electrical Applicances Merchants Association Ltd. Lee also serves as Chairman of Advisory Committee of Sir Murray MacLehose Trust Fund Investment , Committee Member of Correctional Services Children's Education Trust, Permanent Honorary Advisor of Friends of Hong Kong Association Ltd, Fellow Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors as well as Advisory Board Member of Society of Registered Financial Planners Ltd. and was a Committee Member and Chairman of Investment Sub-Committee of Brewin Trust Fund
For many years, Lee has actively involved in the development and promotion of Hong Kong's financial services industry . He is at present Permanent Honorable President of The Institute of Securities Dealers Ltd; Vice Chairman of The Hong Kong Association of Online Brokers Ltd; a member of The Clearing & Settlement Systems Appeals Tribunal and served as a government-appointed Panel Member of the Securities and Futures Appeal s Tribunal and a member of Academic & Accreditation Advisory Committee of Securities and Futures Commission .
Lee has contributed substantial efforts towards education developments in China, In 1997 and 1998, he made donations for the reconstruction of “Project Hope” schools in: Shatian Town, Guidong County of Hunan province; Xianfeng County of Hubei Province; and in Tianyang County of Baise City in Guangxi Province.
Besides, Lee has devoted his time and energy in fostering education in Hong Kong. He is a Founding Member of the Canadian International School of Hong Kong, and had been the Chairman of School Management Council from 2006 to 2008.
In July 2007, Lee was bestowed the honor of Officier de l'Ordre de la Couronne by the King of the Belgians to recognize his contribution towards his community.
